It’s been a busy year as we continue to imagine and create the travel management company best designed to meet your needs and exceed your expectations.

Enhancing Our Partner Network

Our strength derives in part from the strong relationships formed over the years with a network of outstanding local partner offices throughout the world. We actively source, cultivate and train these partners to ensure a consistent level of high-quality programming and service across all aspects of our operations. Towards this end:

• Our team members fanned out around the globe this past year, visiting local offices and conducting inspections in over a dozen countries, from Spain to Uganda to Japan. 

• Further, Account Exec Audra Nielsen and Commercial Manager Joanna Faltys also both attended the IMEX show in Frankfurt, while Operations Manager Sara Navarro is off to Quito and TMLA in September

Expanding Our Team

Our team is the “secret sauce” that makes Destination Partners special. Their dedication to delivering the highest quality product and service is what makes your programs so successful. We are happy to introduce you to three new team members:

• In our Brazil satellite office, we welcome two Account Executives, who combined have over 30 years of rigorous client and operational experience: Luciana D’Andrea and Luca Belfort

• Joining us as our Office Manage and Bookkeeper is Toni Herbert whose experience in a variety of office and field positions is making our back office admin tighter than ever

 

Growing Our Segments Served

Destination Partners continues to expand into the Executive MBA segment, building on our core strengths of destination knowledge, our deeply collaborative approach to program development and our excellence in on the ground operations. Commercial Director Julie Sivertson attended the EMBAC Conference in Madrid last year and will also attend the upcoming conference in Orlando. Commercial Manager Joanna Faltys will represent DP at the West Coast Regional Conference at Sonoma State this June, and we will have a presence at the Eastern Regional Conference at UConn as well.

 

Beyond the university world, we also continue to make strides in the corporate meeting and event segment, building relationships with important companies in key sectors of the economy.

 Creating A Vision Of Happiness
 For A 21st Century Enterprise

Last but certainly not least, Destination Partners is now proudly a leader in incorporating positive psychology and the principles of “Happiness” into our company’s growth, both for the benefit of our team members and for our clients. 

 

Our Director and co-Founder Maria Luisa Carter recently competed a rigorous course in “Happiness in the Hospitality and Tourism industry”, certifying her as the first “Chief Happiness Officer” of a major travel management company!

 

Yes, there is actually a “science” of Happiness, instituted at Harvard by Professor Tal Ben-Shahar. Far from being an abstract concept, “Happiness” is a discipline that can be built into not only everyday life, but into a company’s own structure to enhance outcomes for staff and clients. It’s akin to Bhutan’s famous decision to substitute GNP (Gross National Product) with GNH (Gross National Happiness) as a better metric to measure success.
